I'm not sure how to properly explain it, but there was just something about this book that had an instantaneous pull from the moment I first read the blurb. And when I saw the gorgeous cover, I was done for; I knew I HAD to read this book. My instincts are rarely wrong, and they stayed true here. You never know what you're going to get from a new author, but from my experience, lately I've been reading some excellent ones. Writing that sounds as if it had come from seasoned authors. Writing that some seasoned authors NEVER achieve. The reason this is so important is because even when you have minor issues with the storyline, you look past it because you thoroughly enjoy the words streaming from the page. And that's what happened with me in this story. I legitimately cared about the characters from the beginning, and it only grew over time. One of my favorite surprise elements appeared in this book, and for the sake of not spoiling it for you, I'll just have to say when you read it, you will know what I'm talking about.There were moments, still, where I don't really understand why some things were done the way they were. I feel like some things were blown out of proportion and some things weren't taken seriously enough. But it wasn't anything detrimental to the story, nor did it distract me from enjoying everything going on. I love a good dirty talker and Noah topped the charts with his scorching hot words and actions. You couldn't help but become addicted to this man, just as Lizzie did. There was this immediate pull between them that could not be denied. Noah came into her life at just the right moment, but isn't that just how fate works in the most mysterious of ways?
We already know from the synopsis that they part ways. You don't know why and I won't tell you, but even still I don't know that I truly understand it or think it was necessary. But when you go into survival mode, people will do whatever they have to. What ensues when our characters come into each other's lives again is nothing short of heartbreak and angst. But I promise it's a road worth traveling, and when you get through the storm, you will most definitely find the rainbow in the clearing. I cannot wait to read more from this author in the future.

Wow! I couldn’t put it down and for a whole day I felt like I was living this story! Perfect title! I loved every heartbreaking, angsty minute.
This is a breathtaking, enthralling story about Noah and Lizzie who meet and have an intense mutual attraction. They go their separate ways, but by chance meet again and act on their feelings. For Lizzie it’s a form of escape, and although Noah avoids commitment, he can’t resist making it more.
They spend the next few months falling in love, with Lizzie living a fantasy alternative to another life she doesn’t want to face. But everything comes crashing down. In one horrible moment, Lizzie’s decision is made for her. With her only thoughts to keep those she loves safe, she disappears. In hindsight, things might’ve gone differently had she known who she was dealing with in Noah.
There’s mystery and intrigue. Unknown to Noah, people from his past have put covert forces in motion that draw Lizzie into a perilous situation. In spite of their determination to protect Noah’s interests, things come to an explosive head, and Noah questions who he can trust.
Noah is heart meltingly attractive, dangerously intense, and a fierce lover - I want a Noah in my life! But his secrets give the story a simmering undercurrent that put me on a delicious edge, knowing something was going on and waiting for it to blow up. I admit I cried like a baby at one point, to see the trace of vulnerability in this strong, powerful man as he’s brought to his knees.
The side characters are fabulous. I loved Jase (who doesn’t love a sexy lunatic?) and want more of him, but I will say that Bear got my pulse racing! I really hope there will a book about him - I’m a sucker for guys like him.
Megan Isaacs’ writing is beautiful and at times almost took my breath away. The story has twists and a thriller aspect. When the climax happened, I realized the stakes were much higher than I first thought, and I loved when the pieces fell together and it made sense who had actually been looking out for who. Added to that was Lizzie’s determination not to wilt under pressure and to claim what was hers. The story ended on a high for me. Ms. Isaacs is now a fave author and this is a book I will read more than once!
What an awesome debut novel. Ms Isaacs held me captive from the very beginning.
Characters were interesting, likeable and sexy.
The story line was sweet, intense, sexy and suspenseful all wrapped into one.
I definitely recommend this book.
From page 1 I was hooked could not put it down, this book had it all sadness, happiness, family, friends, betrayal, angst, suspense, love, hot sex, and every other emotion you can think of. Meet Noah and Lizzie, they both have a past and secrets, they thought it was one night.... they thought wrong. Follow them in their incredible journey....

Incredibly hot story! I loved the contrast of how Noah was such a bad ass and how great he treated Lizzy. I also liked the supporting characters (wouldn't mind reading a book about Bear!)
There was crazy sexual tension, plot twists I didn't see coming, and the emotions were so beautifully written that I felt like I was really transported into Noah and Lizzie's world. Everything I want in a book!
This title is really quite appropriate for Lizzie & Noah's story. It's beautiful and INTENSE. So well written (I love the cadence of the writing!). There are a couple unnecessary SOBs (seemingly obligatory breakup) that annoyed me, but I get why the author chose to go in that direction, even if I didn't like it. Other than that, the story is a wonderful blend of sweetness and intensity, and there's also a splash of action & quite a bit of humor/fun. I love the banter between Noah & Lizzie, and Noah & Bear. All in all, I would definitely recommend this story!! )
